Funerals

The Funeral Service is the process to give the bereaved family comfort in acknowledging and sharing their loss. To acknowledge and illuminate the life of the person who has died, in truth with all the richness and diversity. Acknowledging the loss, and ask for the safe transition of the soul, spirit or whatever is believed, into life beyond. To give the bereaved hope and inspiration to resume their lives whilst acknowledging life has irrevocably changed.

I can offer a range of services, depending on your wishes for the person who has died.

Non-Religious Funeral

In our increasingly secular society, people are asking for funerals that focus on the person who has died, their individuality and their life (and not on God).

The funeral service you create will be vibrant and relevant. It can include poetry and prose, songs and music, photographs and slide shows for example.

You might like to choose a themed service, be it Punk, Disney, Viking, Sports, Superhero or no theme. You might want to decorate the coffin. It’s whatever you decide.

Semi-Religious Funeral

People often don’t attend church but they believe in a Higher Being/God.

For instance, you might know that your loved one was expected to be joining their loved one in heaven when they died, and wish to create a service for this. Therefore, religious readings can be included. Whichever faith, be it Christian, Buddhism, Jewish or Hindu, you could include a prayer, such as The Lord’s Prayer. In other words, it’s whatever you decide.

Spiritual Service

A ceremony with soul and with heart, reflecting the passions and loves of the person who has died. This will include their values, beliefs and spirituality. Be it Yoga, Druidism, Paganism. Written with heart, calling upon the Powers of Spirit with the blessings of the Elements and the Earth to which they return.

New Age / Holistic Service

Many New Age rituals focus on healing the body and the mind, the spirit or the earth, through beliefs in energies such as Reiki, calling upon prayer, magical ceremonies, angels, extraterrestrials or the earth itself.

This ritual can include burning of incense and candles, as well as chanting. The service you decide to create can include all these aspects, for those who believe in life after death.

Pet Funeral

Being a pet owner myself I know how painful it is to lose a member of the family in this way. They enrich our lives in so many ways. Euthanasia is the ultimate act of love and the bravest task we have to make for our beloved pet to stop suffering.

I will meet with you and discuss how you want to remember your pet and after that, what sort of service you would like to create.
